Yorkshire Society in New Zealand, 1 August 2019

The Yorkshire Society of New Zealand Inc, is holding a special Yorkshire Society event on the evening of 1 August, 2019, in Waiuku.

During this time they will also be Skype linking on a big screen with Whitby in the UK, with two New Zealand Mayors at our end and the Mayor of Whitby at the UK end.
The Mayor of Whitby will be skyping from on board the Endeavour replica in Whitby Harbour!

Endeavour was built in Yorkshire.  Captain James Cook was born in Yorkshire.
Also in Endeavour from Yorkshire were Charles Green (astronomer), John Ravenhill (sailmaker) and Richard Pickersgill (master’s mate).

Hi Andy,

No .

We did a lot of research and the last one we know of was closed down in the 1960's in Wellington.
which was formed in the 1890's.

Do ring me if you wish as we do get attendees from overseas as well.
