1772 to 1779 (Second and Third World Voyages)

Lisa Reihana's 17 metre, hour long video work is on show at Museum am Rothenbaum - Cultures and Arts of the World (MARKK), Rothenbaumchaussee 64, 20148 Hamburg, Germany.

in Pursuit of Venus [infected] was New Zealand’s entry to the 2017 Venice Biennale, and has been shown in several places around the world.

It juxtaposes idyllic island landscapes with imagined first encounters between Captain Cook’s colonising officers, sailors and traders, and the Indigenous peoples of the Pacific, New Zealand and Australia.

It is highly recommended.
