CCS members in New Zealand will be holding a conference on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, 2026.
This year’s conference will be in Paeroa, situated in the Coromandel (about 2 hours’ drive south of Auckland). We are holding it here to share detailed information about a lesser-known part of New Zealand. This region has relevance because of Captain Cook’s exploration 14 miles inland up the Waihou River in a pinnace, around 20 November, 1769. This journey was the furthest he was ever away from Endeavour.
On Saturday, there will be speakers’ presentations, and a short cruise up the Waihou River in pleasure boats, following in the wake of James Cook.
On Sunday morning we will revisit the Waihou area by road, and have a final presentation before dispersing.
An optional pre-conference tour of parts of the Coromandel is also being arranged for Thursday 29 October, and Friday 30 October.
If you would like to attend the conference, or are considering a vacation in New Zealand, and the timing works for you, please contact me, and we can discuss the conference in more detail.
