CCS in the UK 2019

 

The 2019 meeting will be held at the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum, Marton, North Yorkshire, on Saturday, 12th October, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The main talks will be
A New Structure for the South Seas: Joseph Banks, Daniel Solander and the Classification of Nature in Endeavour, 1768 - 71 by Edwin Rose
The Guardian and the Iceberg, Edward Riou’s life and trials by Steve Ragnall
Cook and the Priest of the Invisible by Patrick Lodge
Great Ayton’s Cook Cottage and Memorial Garden by Ian Pearce and John Robinson

 

It is recommended that people stay at The Sporting Lodge Inn, Stainton, Middlesbrough.
This venue is situated in a rural location, five km to the west of the museum.
