On 10 June, 1768, 250 years ago, James Cook at Deptford, recorded in his journal, “got off the Topmast & yards”.

John Gathrey joined Endeavour as Boatswain, and Thomas Jordan as Boatswain’s servant.

The Navy Board recorded that “Endeavour Bark be supplied with a Machine for sweetening foul water”.
