Description: At the entrance to the Royal Naval College, on the front facade of the Pepys Building, now Greenwich Visitor Centre, are 13 medallions with busts of great naval heroes, one of which is Captain James Cook. The full list from east to west is - George Anson, Sir Francis Drake, James Cook, Charles Howard, Robert Blake, John Benbow, John Montagu the 4th Earl of Sandwich, George Brydges Rodney, Adam Duncan, Cuthbert Collingwood, Richard Howe, Horatio Nelson and John Jervis 1st Earl of St Vincent. History: The 13 medallions of nautical heroes were by Charles Raymond Smith (c1799-1888), who sculpted the work over 1874-1883.
