A year ago I reported about the dividers missing from the Captain Cook Statue in Victoria, BC.1 Now it seems the whole statue has gone! Leona Taylor tells me the statue was removed by Greater Victoria Harbour Authority so the missing dividers can be restored to the statue. They have given the work to Nathan Scott, a local sculptor, who repaired the dividers the last time they were damaged. It is hoped that the statue will be returned to the empty plinth early in 2017. My thanks to Leona for the photos above of Don Reksten and the empty plinth.
