Michael, I do not have a muster roll for HMS Pembroke, so I cannot answer your question. I have a copy of a Navy List for 1766, and there is no Lt. George Ellerby in it. I searched back to those Lieutenants commissioned in 1746, but all I could find was a George Ellery in 1747. There is an on-line blog relating to Ellerby Family History http://ellerbysofnorthyorkshire.blogspot.com/The page giving the details for William Ellerby (1805-1849), mentions his father Lt. George Ellerby (1737-1833) of the Royal Navy. But that George only enlisted in 1785, far too late to have sailed with Cook on HMS Pembroke. Good luck with your search.
Was there a leuitenant George Ellerby sailed with captain James cook on HMS Pembroke around the year 1759
Peter, There is a book of maps! It is "Captain Cook's World: Maps of the Life and Voyages of James Cook R.N." by John Robson. Published in 2000. A review of it can be found atwww.captaincooksociety.com/home/detail?ArticleId=510
I attended a cruise presentation by Steve Ragnall and is there any maps available of Cook's journeys available
Peter, contemporary drawings from Cook's voyages (including some ship views) can be found on-line at http://www.captcook-ne.co.uk/ccne/gallery.htmIn addition there are several marine artists who produce works featuring Cook's ships, such as Robin Brooks, on-line at http://www.robin-brooks.com/and Paul Deacon, on-line at http://pauldeaconartist.com/You might also find some useful images on the Flickr site devoted to Captain Cookhttps://www.flickr.com/groups/captain-james-cook/
Are there any side views , and/or models of Cooks ships ? I am looking for pictures that I can includein a presentation/lecture on the life of Cook
