"Naming Rights: The Case of Mai/Omai from Polynesia" is the title of a talk and disucssion about Omai, the Polynesian who travelled from the South Seas to Britain with Captain Tobias Furneaux in Adventure, and then sailed back in Resolution under Captain James Cook.
His name was Mai, but he was known as Omai or Omiah by the British.
