There are no direct descendants of Captain James Cook R.N.
BUT James' sister Margaret Cook married James Fleck, and one of their descendants married into the Carter family. So you may have a connection, albeit through James Cook's sister. Unfortunately your grandmother's name does not appear on the current Cook/Fleck family tree, but maybe the compiler is unaware of the connection. Have a look at the on-line family tree and see if you can make a connection, go to
http://www.winthrop.dk/cooktree.html
Please let me know if you are able to link into the Carter family.

I believe that my paternal. grandmother Bridget Elizabeth Collins (born Carter) is a direct decendant of Captain James. Cook. I would like to obtain the family tree showing this connection ifpossible please.
